The firm manages funds across two strategies. Our regional funds are actively managed and aim to generate consistent returns by investing in a portfolio of 25 to 35 stocks of Asian and emerging market companies that will benefit from the emergence and expansion of domestic consumption in what the manager believes will be the fastest growing regions of the world. As investors, we believe that growth in the region over the coming years will be driven by the advances made in the region’s two great powerhouses: China and India. The regional funds have significant exposure to both these markets.
Our second strategy invests primarily in listed equities in India but may also invest in listed equities and equity-related securities in Vietnam as well as Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Mauritius, and other markets in the region. These allocations will be made on the basis of macro opportunity as well as availability of good quality, investable companies, all offering fundamental investment value, and covering a range of market capitalizations. Investments will be taken with a view to benefiting from above average growth, and where possible a reasonable dividend yield.
